DIRECTIONS TO/FROM AIRPORT:
The airport is in the north of the city, and UCD is about 3 or 4 km
south of the city centre. If you arrive in Dublin airport, we
recommend taking a bus called the Aircoach. This bus (coach) departs
from right outside the airport terminal - when you exit the airport
building, cross the road at the traffic light and the bus stop is
immediately on your left. The bus is non-stop to Trinity College (the
city centre), and thereafter stops at the Montrose Hotel, the SAS
Radisson Hotel and the Stillorgan Park Hotel. It is the easiest way to
get to any of these accomodations. The cost is 8 euro one way, 14 euro return. Further information is available at their website www.aircoach.ie . Make sure to give the name of your hotel when buying a ticket, there is more than one bus route.
You can also take a taxi from the airport. Taxis in Dublin are quite
expensive. From the airport to UCD/Montrose Hotel I would expect a fare of about 40-50 euro (this is a guess).
Finally, you can take a local Dublin city bus also. See www.dublinbus.ie for more information. For going to UCD/Montrose Hotel you can take the 46X, 746, 58X. The fare is about 2 euro. These buses go through the city centre and stop everywhere, so this is a longer journey. This is not a good option if you have a lot of luggage.

LOCAL RESTAURANTS
For something a little different, lunch is available at the mosque in
Clonskeagh (Olive Tree restaurant, about a 20 minute walk).
For evening meals, the nearest group of pubs and restaurants off campus is in Donnybrook village, about 20 minutes walk up the N11 from the main UCD N11 entrance. You can also take a bus to Donnybrook from the bus stop just outside the main UCD N11 entrance, there are many routes which stop there. The hotels also provide evening meals - the menu in the bar will be different from the restaurant. Beside the Montrose Hotel is a pub called Lonegans. On campus, the main cafeteria (First) will be open in the evening, until 7pm anyway.
