June 3-10 2008: Gary McGuire was invited to the University of Turku, Finland, to conduct research with Jyrki Lahtonen, Roope Vekhalati, Petri Rosendahl, Matthew Parker, Bharath Sethurman.

Weekly Group Meetings were held in UCD in the areas of Boolean Functions, Elliptic Curve Cryptography, Network Coding, and Costas Arrays.

The Claude Shannon Institute Workshop on Coding and Cryptography took place on May 19th &-20th 2008 at University College Cork. There were 20 talks including 5 invited speakers. The workshop brought together researchers from Ireland, UK, France, Spain, USA, Romania, Switzerland, Austria, and Italy. About 60 people attended the workshop. May 26-30 2008: Eimear Byrne visited EPFL in Lausanne to work with Emina Soljanin, currently visiting from Bell Labs USA. While there she gave a talk entitled Advances on APN Functions.

May 6th 2008: Fernando Hernando (CSI) was invited to give a talk in the University of Valladolid. The title of the talk was: Decoding towards the half of the minimum distance of some Quasi-Cyclic Codes.

April 13-17, 2008: Naomi Benger (CSI) and Manuel Charlemagne (CSI) attended EUROCRYPT 2008 -the 27th Annual International Conference on the Theory and Applications of Cryptographic Techniques (Advances in Cryptology) in Istanbul, Turkey.
