The Claude Shannon Institute Steering Team Meeting
June 12 2008: The Claude Shannon Institute Steering Team Meeting took place at the Crowne Plaza Northwood Hotel, D9. The following people were in attendance: Eimear Byrne, Tom Dowling, Marcus Greferath, Pat Fitzpatrick, Gary McGuire, Russell Higgs, Elva O’Sullivan, Scott Rickard and Mike Scott. An in-depth discussion regarding the strategy for CSI took place during this one day meeting. Small changes and improvements will be implemented in the coming months which will assist CSI as it continues to grow. We also talked about the best way to prepare for our upcoming SFI Review which should occur before year end and we look forward to everyone’s cooperation in the coming months to help us achieve a successful review. More information will be made available to everyone as it becomes available.

Marcus Greferath (CSI) visits the the Technical University of Aachen
June 5/6 2008: Marcus Greferath (CSI) visited Prof. Bernhard Bluemich at the Chemistry Department of the Technical University of Aachen for further work on an interdisciplinary project on Generalised Bent Functions for use in Physical Measurement Techniques. The project is also being supported by the UCD 2007 seed funding scheme on enterprise and commercialisation.
