Marcus Greferath (CSI) was invited to Moscov State University
February 23 – 28 2009: Marcus Greferath (CSI) was invited to Moscov State University for an international conference on the occasion of the 80th birthday of the internationally renowned algebraist Kostrikin. On February 24 he gave a talk on the topic of extending isometries between codes over ring-linear codes.

First Irish Cryptography Day
The First Irish Cryptography Day was held on Wednesday, February 25, 2009. The day was organised and hosted by the Claude Shannon Institute. The purpose of the day was to bring together academics, industry and government on the island of Ireland who have an interest in cryptography and security.
