Fq9, the 9th International Conference on Finite Fields and Applications hosted by the Claude Shannon Institute

Fq9, the 9th International Conference on Finite Fields and Applications, was hosted by the Claude Shannon Institute from July 13 -17 2009 at University College Dublin.
The aim of this conference was to bring together researchers from all aspects of finite fields, theory, computation and applications. Previous meetings were held in Las Vegas (USA), Glasgow (Scotland), Waterloo (Canada), Augsburg (Germany), Oaxaca (Mexico), Toulouse (France) and Melbourne (Australia) so it was an achievement for the Claude Shannon Institute to be awarded this prestigious conference. The conference chair was Professor Gary McGuire (CSI) and there were 150 participants from all over the world. All members of the Claude Shannon Institute attended the conference.
