Dr. Emanuel Popovici (CSI) was named collaborator on an NSF grant “Decoding of Algebraic Geometry Codes: Theoretical Analysis, Efficient Algorithms, Practical Implementation;” Duration: July/2009 - June/2012. The Principal Investigator, Mike O'Sullivan, will work closely with Dr. Emanuel Popovici's group on the architectures and implementation of the list decoding algorithms.

August 14 2009: Harris Nover defended his PhD Thesis at the University of Wisconsin. His PhD supervisor was Nigel Boston (CSI). Nigel Boston (CSI) also served on two other University of Wisconsin PhD defence committees - both in electrical and computer engineering, on August 4 and 10.
